The administrative apparatus is making extensive preparations for the launch of the Srimandir Parikrama Project. After inviting Lord Jagannath to the inauguration ceremony, the procedure got underway on Thursday. After that, a meeting between the sevayats and the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) was held in Puri.
A decision made during the meeting states that 31 teams have been formed to send out invitations for the launch ceremony. Starting tomorrow, December 22, members of these teams will divide into two groups in order to distribute invitations. Fourteen teams will extend invitations within the state, whereas seventeen teams will extend invitations outside it. On December 26, the teams will begin working after extending invitations to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
On January 17, the Srimandir Praikrama Project will open. First among those invited to the inaugural ceremony was Lord Jagannath.Leading a procession from the SJTA office to the Shree Jagannath Temple was Chief Administrator Ranjan Kumar Das, along with five members of the temple managing committee and senior sevayats who carried the invitation card. They extended the invitation card to Lord Jagannath at his lotus feet.
After inviting Lord Jagannath, they offered invitation cards to Lord Nrusingha, Maa Bimala, Maa Mangala and lastly to Panchu Pandav. Jagannat temples and individuals inside the country and abroad will be invited for the inauguration ceremony. Erstwhile, King of Nepal among others will be also invited for the ceremony. A special kit will be presented along with the invitation card.
