Under its groundbreaking Aashiana program, the JSP Foundation on Sunday provided housing assistance to 449 impoverished families across 11 states, as part of its ongoing transformative initiative to raise the community’s Human Development Index (HDI). On January 20, 2024, Shallu Jindal, the chairperson of the JSP Foundation, officially opened the second iteration of the program and gave the chosen families their financial aid confirmation letters.
“We truly believe that everyone deserves the security of a home, and we take immense pride in the fact that the housing assistance provided by us in the past under the Aashiana program has helped 521 families to construct their dream home,” Shallu Jindal said in her speech to the program. It brings me great joy to learn that in the program’s second iteration, 449 more families will receive financial assistance to fulfill their aspirations of becoming home owners. This will undoubtedly improve their family’s quality of life in the long run.
JSP Foundation, the CSR division of Jindal Steel & Power (JSP), launched Project Aashiana in FY 2022–2023 as a unique effort to support families facing housing insecurity as a result of limited financial resources. Under this program, the JSP Foundation provides up to Rs 250,000 in financial assistance to each qualifying family so they can construct a home with necessities like electricity, running water, and toilets.
