The year 2020 has startled everyone with the appalling news of losing eminently personalities who have ceaselessly been throbbing people’s hearts with their extraordinary flair. One of them, Dr Subhadramma Mansooru, a charismatic Kannada Theatre personality, left us lately due to cardiac arrest at 81. She was survived by two sons and one daughter in her family.
As one of Kannada’s most celebrated theatre artists, she is, besides, a renowned vocalist who was the recipient of various awards like the Nadoja Award, Gubee Veeranna Award, and prestigious Karnataka Rajyostava Award and honoured from the number of organizations like the Nataka Academy and the Delhi Kannada Sangha.
CM stated condoling her death, “I pray for her soul to rest in peace and strength to the family to bear the irreparable loss.”
The remarkable woman who had been contributing powerfully to the Theatre for five decades has left an indelible mark on the industry. Her flawless performance as Draupadi, Gandhari, and Kunti had always appalled the audience that she continued to perform it for long years. Moreover, she also acted in Telegu plays like Pallepaduchu and Natanalayam.
Beyond question, she has been one of the true legends artists who might have left the world, but the people will continuously remember her outstanding performances.
