The rapper and singer in Bollywood Badshah were summoned to appear before Mumbai Police for questioning on Saturday regarding the buying of fake views in order to get the world record for his album Pagal hai.
The rapper denied to all the allegations against him and claimed to have provided all the information regarding the case and has peacefully cooperated with the Mumbai Police in the investigation. However, Mumbai Police claim that Badshah confessed of buying fake views for his song Pagal hai for Rs 72 lakh to set a world record.
“The singer confessed that he wanted to set a world record for the most number of views in 24 hours on Youtube. That is why he paid Rs 72 lakh to this company,” said Nandkumar Thakur, the deputy commissioner of Police.
The music video Pagal hai gained 75 million on the first day of release. It had defeated the previous world record by bands like BTS and Taylor Swift. Although the claim was rejected by Google. The officers have been investigating further and scrutinizing his other songs as well.
“Following the summons, I have aided the officials in their investigation by cooperating and carrying out the due diligence on my part. I have categorically denied all the allegation levelled against me and made it clear that I was never involved in such practices, nor do I condone them. The investigation procedure is being executed in accordance with the law and I have complete faith in the authorities, who are handling the matter. I would like to convey thanks to all those who showed concern for me. It means a lot to me,” said Badshah.
The accusations came under limelight when Bhoomi Trivedi, a Bollywood playback singer busted the scam to the Mumbai Police through analytical technical-intelligence and nabbed about 20 prominent personalities.
