Ashwini Vaishnaw, Telecom Minister on July 27, Wednesday announced that the federal cabinet had approved BSNL’s Rs 1,64,000 activation package.
This package will be used to ease the burden on the balance sheet of state-owned carriers and is also intended to extend BSNL’s fiber reach and improve the quality of service of the company.
Minister Vaishnaw also briefed reporters on the federal Cabinet’s decision, saying that apart from approving infrastructure expansions and upgrades, BSNL’s administrative allocation of spectra to 4G and 5G services was also approved.
Telecom Minister also claimed that the Union Cabinet has approved the merger of BSNL and Bharat Broadband Network Ltd (BBNL).
