The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise along with the BCCI team and other agencies have settled themselves in UAE and has brought along a lot of chaos regarding the opening team of IPL.
The covid outbreak has caused a lot of chaos with the schedule made by BCCI – IPL and there has been a huge possibility that Mumbai Indians might not play their first match with Chennai Super Kings. With the Covid positive report , the franchise has to quarantine them for 14 days instead of 6 , which means there is no chance that the opening match could be played according to the schedule.
It is a great possibility that Royal Challengers Bangalore could play the first match because of the presence of star players. If there is no presence of Dhoni then it must have Virat Kohli.
“The other day, lights went off at the practice venue when a team was training,” says one franchise representative. Another one is worried that the “team’s staff hasn’t received the FOB (tracking device) bands yet”. A third says, “We’re still trying to figure how to commute between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, considering the two Emirates have different Covid regulations”. Another franchise is not convinced with the bubble being built and says: “this is not a commodity purchase and proactive depth-data analysis is missing”.
Whereas the BCCI has been a handful with all the existing complaints. There have been no communications with the other franchises.
