The Integrated Infrastructure Complex (IIC), Khurda is being establish to provide social security for seniors citizens and special children , will soon receive a world-class laboratory for visually impaired students.
The initiative was decided at the recent review conference on the progress of the IIC in 10 districts: Khurda, Cuttack , Puri,Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Sundagarh, Ganjam and Nabarangpur, and has been working on social security and individual empowerment. The conference was held by the Bhaskar Sarma, Commissioner of the Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD).
The IICs are being instrumented by the department as part of the state government’s 5T initiative.
The IICs aim of providing better teaching materials for visually impaired students enrolled at IIC in Khurda, each student will also be provided with a reading device.
Last year, the state government approved the construction of his IIC in 18 districts in the first phase. These centers include nursing homes and special schools for blind and deaf students. The centres in Khurda, Ganjam, Sambalpur and Kandhamal are expected to be operational this year by the end of September.
