Engineering College, with further education from prestigious institutions like IIT Kharagpur and MDI Gurgaon, Deb’s academic credentials lay a strong foundation for his illustrious career. His ascent through the ranks of NTPC is a testament to his exceptional performance and relentless pursuit of excellence.
At the helm of NTPC Talcher Thermal power project of 2X660 MW, Goutam Deb leads with a clear vision of not just meeting energy demands but reshaping the trajectory of the power sector towards sustainability. The expansion project at Talcher Thermal, with its focus on state-of-the-art technology and environmental stewardship, underscores NTPC’s commitment to ensuring energy security and reducing carbon emissions. Talcher Thermal expansion with Ultra-Super Critical units will significantly reduce carbon emissions and lower land & water footprint. Moreover, this project is having provisions for future Biomass co-firing, Carbon capturing, Green Methanol production & firing to further decarbonization.

From pioneering NTPC’s first solar power project at Dadri to leading the project team as GM (Project) at Patratu for 3X800MV Ultra-supercritical project to successful project execution as BUH in Fertiliser project at HURL (JV of NTPC), Deb’s contributions to India’s energy landscape & project management are indelible.
