ICC Test Rankings: Smith overtakes Kohli, Kane Williamson tops the list

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday released the latest Test rankings after the third Test between India and Australia ended in Sydney. Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has slipped to third in the ICC Test batsman rankings. Australia’s Steve Smith, who excelled in the Sydney Test, has moved up to second place.

On the other hand, Cheteshwar Pujara, the so-called ‘new wall’ of the Indian cricket team, has moved up two places to eighth. Kohli is in third place with 870 points. Smith is in second place with 900 points, while New Zealand captain Ken Williamson is at the top with 919 points. Smith played a stunning innings of 131 and 81 in the Sydney Test. Whose advantage he has found in the rankings. Williamson played a marathon innings of 238 in the last Test against Pakistan.

Similarly, the captain in charge of the Indian Test team, Ajikya Rahane, dropped one place to seventh. Rushav Pant has moved up 19 places to 26th in Sydney with an innings of 32 and 97 runs. Hanuma Bihari is ranked 52nd, Shubman Gill is in 69th and R Ashwin is in 89th spot.

In bowling, off-spinner Ravi Chandran Ashwin slipped two places to ninth, while Yashpreet Bumra fell one place to be at tenth. Pat Cummins tops the list, while Stuart Broad is in second.
