The Run machine Virat Kohli leading Indian cricket team began their first outdoor training session in Sydney after the entire squad tested negative for Covid-19, reported news agency PTI.
After team India landed in Australia on Saturday, they will remain in quarantine for 14 days. According to the report, now everyone tests negative, and Cricket Australia has made outdoor training arrangements.
On November 14, BCCI posted pictures of the Indian Cricket team outdoor training, and a gym session on its official Twitter handle. Hardik Pandya, Prithvi Shaw, Kuldeep Yadav, Hanuma Vihari, and Mohammed Siraj were seen going through light training at Sydney Olympic Park.
Cheteshwar Pujara, Spinner Kuldeep Yadav, pacer Umesh Yadav, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, and Shardul Thakur were also seen warming up.
After outdoor training, team India players are also seen at the gym. All three – ODI, T20I, and Test squads- have traveled together due to the hosts’ strict bio-secure protocol.
India tour of Australia is scheduled to play three ODIs, three T20s, and a four-Test series. All three ODIs will be played in Sydney, starting from November 27 to December 2. After three ODIs, three T20Is starting from December 4.
The Test series will begin with a Day-Night pink ball game at Adelaide from December 17. However, Skipper Virat Kohli to miss the last three matches as he will be on paternity during that time. Probably Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane may lead the side in Kohli’s absence.
