The IPL 2020 match no.7 between CSK VS DC taught us talent wins games, but teamwork wins championships. Delhi Capital (DC) had a comprehensive 44-run victory against experienced CSK in Dubai on Friday. Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni admitted that it was not a good game for CSK.
In the post-match presentation, MS Dhoni said that “I don’t think it was a good game for us”.
Delhi Capital after losing the toss sent to bat first and posted 175 on the board with Prithvi Shaw leading 64-run knock and Shikhar Dhawan’s 35 runs. In the middle order, Rishabh Pant (37) showed his class as well.
The outstanding performance by DC bowlers leads to keep the match in their pocket. As a result, they can send CSK to back foot. CSK could only manage to score 131 for 7 in their 20 overs while chasing 175.
The CSK captain MS Dhoni also highlighted the areas that CSK needs to improve after suffering the two consecutive defeats in the tournament.
MS Dhoni said that “there was no dew, but the wicket did slow down. CSK is lacking a bit of steam in the batting and that hurts him. The run-rate keeps on mounting after such slow starts and adds pressure as well”.
CSK need to come back with a clearer picture, looking at the combination of opening Ambati Rayudu may come back in the next game and bowlers can get better with their lengths and lines, said MSD.
“Bowlers need to get better with our lengths, lines and pace. I think the spinners have not come to the party yet. We are bowling good deliveries, but we are giving away the boundary deliveries bit too often,” said MS Dhoni.
Now CSK has a 6-day break before their next game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on October 2.
