The young SRH batsman Priyam Garg looked rather sheepish even before he faced his first ball against CSK. SRH didn’t get their actual start as they are looking for, wickets are falling off in the regular interval.
While standing at the non-striker’s end, Priyam Garg was watching the dismissals of captain David Warner and Kane Williamson at the end of the 11th over. Hyderabad’s batting has been collapsed 69/4 with only nine overs to go.
After the U19 World Cup campaign in February, Garg had played only one match in his IPL debut, where he scored 12 runs.
The first eight balls of his innings, Garg didn’t seem like he was going to lead SRH as he struggles to find timing from his bat. But he showed his skill with bat why he is among the country’s most promising prospects.
In Sam Curran’s over, Garg hits square-drive through backward point brought him his first boundary. With a classical stroke over square leg for six from Curran’s free-hit ball, Garg raced to his maiden IPL fifty.
With his outstanding knock, SRH able to reach 164 run, which looks quite impossible at some point.
However, batting first, SRH posted 164 for five riding on Priyam Garg’s maiden IPL fifty in reply, CSK could only manage 157 for five despite a half-century from Ravindra Jadeja.
MS Dhoni hasn’t had the best of times this year IPL season. This is the first time that CSK is the bottom of the points table. It seems like Suresh Raina’s absence affects more.
However, CSK top order again failed to score and lost wickets in regular intervals and could only manage to score 36/3 at the end of six overs.
The partnership between MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja became the last hope for CSK. However, they could manage to score 157 runs and took the game of its end.
Despite the fifty from Ravindra Jadeja, CSK has lost the game only by seven runs.
