The IPL match no 48 between defending champion majestic Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore, where the defending champion beat RCB by five wickets and seal the deal for the 1st team to qualify for the playoffs.
Both Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah’s master class help Mumbai Indians to seal the deal. Suryakumar cracked an unbeaten 79 of 43 balls with ten delightful fours and three sixes to take MI single-handedly in a crucial game.
However, Yadav wasn’t the only hero of the night for MI. The sensational spell by Boom Boom Bumrah made the game for MI. He delivered a double-wicket maiden in the crucial 17th over and followed up by conceding five runs in the penultimate over.
Jasprit Bumrah bowled a short delivery outside the off-stump to Virat Kohli, and Virat play a pull shot, and the ball goes up, and Saurabh Tiwary caught the ball sent Virat to the dugout.
Virat Kohli’s wicket gave Jasprit Bumrah his 100th wicket in the Indian Premier League, and he also completes his 20 wickets in this year’s tournament.
Bumrah’s 100 wickets landmark makes him a part of an elite list of bowlers in the world’s most competitive T20 league. Incidentally, Virat Kohli was also his first-ever IPL wicket and also became his 100th wicket.
In 2013 when young Bumrah made his debut for MI, he trapped the rising Indian star LBW, and since then, Bumrah has been an integral part of the MI franchise and won four titles with them.
IPL gave Bumrah the stage to showcase his extraordinary talent in front of the best in the world. Eventually, he made his debut in international cricket, and the rest is history.
With 102 wickets in 89 matches, Jasprit Bumrah is currently ranked 15th in the overall list of IPL wicket-takers.
