The RR VS KXIP match is nothing but batting storms. Now the desert city UAE is not unknown to batting storms. Rajasthan Royals (RR) recorded the highest successful chase in IPL history.
KXIP set a mammoth 223/2 score on the board with the help of Mayank Agarwal’s (106 — 50b) and KL Rahul’s half-century. KXIP could have breathed easy after putting up such a mammoth score but not against a team like RR which has Buttler, Smith, Samson and Rahul Tewatia the game-changer.
As Buttler departed early, the duo Smith and Samson helped RR to accelerate the score, and both reached their half-century off 26 balls. Steve Smith was caught at deep cover by Shami then RR score gone down.
However, Samson kept going despite Tewatia struggling at the other end. Then suddenly found his range of shorts.
While Sanju Samson back in the dugout RR needed 51 off 18 balls, then Rahul Tewatia took it upon himself to turn the tide. Tewatia suddenly takes Sheldon Cottrell on remand and struck five huge sixes on his over and take the equation to 21 of 12.
Looking towards those five sixes of Tewatia former Indian left-hander batsman legend Yuvraj Singh also remind his six sixes in an over against Stuart Broad.
Reacting on those five sixes of Tewatia, Yuvraj Singh said “Na bhai Na, Thanks for missing one ball Mr Tewatia.” He also congratulates RR for their spectacular win.
However, one can’t argue with Tewatia, as he had scored just eight runs in 19 balls with no boundaries, while the next 12 balls produced 45 runs with seven huge sixes. Unfortunately, Cottrell, who had bowled so well for KXIP in the previous two games, had a night to forget.
Rahul Tewatia became the hero of the match, who helps RR to achieve a four-wicket win with three balls remaining against KXIP.
