Shahbaz Nadeem and Wriddhiman Saha are the two gems of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) who made their team into the IPL 2020 playoffs qualifiers. In IPL 13, Nadeem played five games, Saha played four games, but their outstanding contributions restrict Mumbai Indians (MI) to 149/8; thus, SRH seal the deal for Playoffs.
When MI at 81/2, Nadeem dismissed Surya Kumar Yadav and Krunal Pandya in four deliveries of the 12th over, and MI slipped to 81/4. The stunning stumping from Saha and an outstanding catch by Kane Williamson sent MI to back foot.
In the next over of Rashid Khan, Saha takes a smart catch of Saurabh Tiwary, and MI was 82/5 after 12.1 overs. However, the replacement of Mitchell Marsh, Jason Holder, has taken ten wickets in five games, and he took the crucial wicket of Kieron Pollard (41 of 25 balls), who looks dangerous at the death over.
The sensational unbitten partnership between Saha (58; 4×7; 6×1) and David Warner (85; 4×10; 6×1) seal the deal for ten wickets win over defending champion MI. However, MI rested Jaspreet Bumrah and Trent Boult, and as conditions became difficult for bowling.
Saha started the boundary hitting show in the Nathan Coulter-Nile over for a six over mid-off and followed it up with a lofted boundary over mid-on and also hit two more fours in the next over of Dhawal Kulkarni, who played his first match in IPL 13.
Then Warner joined the party and hit James Pattinson for three fours with two cuts and a pull in the fourth over, and SRH showed their openers were enough, and they never really looked back.
As a result, SRH beat MI by ten wickets with 17 balls to spare and defenestrate KKR from the playoffs race and book a seat in the playoffs. With this win over MI, SRH reaches the top three on the table and book a date with RCB in the second qualifier match.
