After defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier 2, Delhi Capitals (DC) booked their ticket into the final of the Indian Premier League 2020. This is the first time in the history of IPL that the Delhi franchise will be playing the final.
It was an impressive all-round display by Shreyas Iyer leading side DC as they overcame the challenge laid out by SRH. While batting first, DC put a mammoth 189 runs with Shikhar Dhawan’s sensational knock of 78 runs.
SRH did not have the best of starts as Kagiso Rabada departs David Warner early, but efforts from Kane Williamson and Abdul Samad managed to stabilize the innings.
The sensational death bowling shows by Kagiso Rabada kept SRH 17 runs far from the win as he picked up three wickets in the 19th over. As a result, DC booked the ticket into the final.
However, only one final match (DC VS MI) is left in the IPL 2020 season, but the race for Orange Cap and Purple Cap is still heating up. However, Delhi Capitals Shikhar Dhawan and Kagiso Rabada look like the strong contender for Orange Cap and Purple Cap.
Currently, KL Rahul holding the top position for the Orange Cap race with 670 runs and no one behind them. But there is one contender who can challenge KL Rahul. Shikhar Dhawan, who scored 603 runs next to KL Rahul, will have a chance to grab hold of that coveted Cap when he takes the field on Tuesday.
The race for the Purple Cap has been the most exciting one. South African pacer Kagiso Rabada has led the wicket-taking table with 29 wickets for DC. But he has to face stiff competition from MI’s Jasprit Bumrah, who has continued to push him down.
