While this year IPL will be a mega-event with the addition of two new teams of Lucknow and Gujarat, there were loads of discussion regarding the venues of the matches. If it wasn’t for the COVID situation then all the matches would have been held in respected teams’ home ground. However, due to the COVID situation, there were lots of discussions were to holding the IPL matches.
While at first countries like UAE, South Africa and Sri Lanka put their hands up to organize IPL. However, at last, BCCI finalized to held all matches in India. However this time there will be only two places where the IPL will be played. One Mumbai and the second one being Pune.
While 55 matches will be played in Mumbai in Wankade, DY Patil and Brabourne Stadium, 15 matches will be held in Pune. It will be interesting to see whether BCCI allows crowds or not.
