In a shocking turn of events, just a day after Ollywood actress Varsha Priyadarshini moved court alleging domestic violence, and reports are out that Anubhav Mohanty, her husband and actor-turned-politician had already filed a divorce petition at Patiala Court in New Delhi on July 7, 2020

The Kendrapada MP said that Varsha had been falsely accusing him of having affairs with his co-stars since 2016 and making unreasonable demands, which caused him mental stress.

He further alleged said that she denied him his conjugal rights and had failed in her duties as a wife and daughter-in-law.

In his divorce petition, he said the couple had been living separately since May 2019.

This is in complete opposite to what Varsha had alleged in her petition of being denied the rights of becoming a mother as Anubhav would always come home late in the night drunk. She has also accused him of having multiple affairs.

Varsha, in her 8-page petition filed at the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court on August 7, said that the actor portrayed as anything but a hero in real life. She has accused him of being a ‘professional drinker’ who used to torture her physically and mentally under the influence of alcohol. She stated that the exploitation was going on since their marriage.

Citing the latest case of inhuman abuse, she said during the lockdown, Anubhav’s entire family left for Delhi leaving her all alone in the house. They neither enquired about her nor gave any money till their return on May 25.

In her petition, Varsha has appealed to the court to order Anubhav to pay a compensation of Rs 13 crore besides Rs two crore towards medical expenses and monthly maintenance of Rs 50,000.
