The NCB denies to the bail pleas of Rhea and her brother Showik as she was clearly involved in the financing activities related to drug trafficking which was further supported by her voluntary statements recorded, Whatsapp chat records, call records and information received from her laptop and tablet.

“The applicant was having conscious knowledge about the actor Sushant Singh Rajput consuming drugs and she made herself a part of it by procuring drug for him. She has used her credit card and other financial services to deal with illicit drug trafficking, ” as said by NCB(Narcotics Control Bureau) before NDPS court on Thursday. The court has rejected her bail plea as per the hearings today and arrested.

According to a report in Times Now, Rhea, who was at the NCB office, was shifted to the Byculla jail till September 22. Investigation officer Sameer Wankhede reached the NCB office to investigate the case ahead today. The focus of the NCB now is reportedly to unearth the larger nexus of the entire drug cartel in which Rhea is said to have played a role.

The NCB has arrested the ‘Jalebi’ actress under sections 8(c), 20(b), 27(a), 28, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). On Day 3 of her interrogation by the NCB, Rhea Chakraborty admitted that she was consuming not just marijuana, but also hard drugs. Rhea also had earlier admitted ‘procuring drugs’ along with her brother Showik Chakraborty, who has also been arrested by NCB. After her arrest on Tuesday, Rhea was taken to a Government hospital in Mumbai for a medical check-up and COVID-19 test.
