According to an official press release, the Odisha government has exempted Navi Mumbai Corporation (NMC) from paying Rs 61.05.000.
The state government has announced that it will waive payments at the behest of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
From April 12, 2021 to November 27, 2021, for over 7 months NMC accommodated doctors and health care workers in eight rooms and a dormitory on the fourth floor of Odisha Bhawan in Mumbai to provide Covid treatment. For this reason, the NMC has to pay the Odisha government around 61 lakhs. However, the amount is exempt now by the state.
The state government also previously exempted the NMC from paying 2,0016,000 rupees during the first wave of the pandemic.
