For the first time in nine 9 days, the daily positive COVID cases have dropped down below the 10000 mark in Odisha. The last time when cases were below 10000 was recorded on January 12 with 8778 cases. According to the I and PR department in the last 24 hours 9833 new positive cases have been detected in the state.
Out of 9833 cases, 972 were of people from 0-18 years of age. Khordha district was again with the highest number of positive cases with 2946 cases followed by Sundargarh (1134), Cuttack (774), Mayurbhanj (295), Nayagarh (292) and Balasore (285) and Bolangir (288).

6 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours as well. The details of which are shared below-
1. A 50 years old Male of Angul District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
2. A 72 years old Male of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
3. A 50 years old Female of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Bronchial Asthma.
4. A 55 years old Male of Dhenkanal District who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease & Hypertension.
5. A 50 years old Female of Jagatsinghpur District who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease & Severe Anemia.
6. A 67 years old Male of Puri District was also suffering from a Cerebro Vascular Accident.
