Prime Minister Narender Modi launched a new platform on 13th August at 11 via video conferencing to honour India’s upright taxpayers.
He highlighted the salient features of the platform, Faceless appeal, taxpayers’ charter, and faceless assessment, PM announced. The virtual event was attended by various chambers of commerce, Trade Associations’, Chartered Accountants, and many influential taxpayers.
In his notable address to the nation today, PM focussed on the profound importance of a Transparent system. He added, “This platform we are launching today will make the tax system faceless. We are heading out for a new journey today. New arrangements, modern facilities, starting today, confirm our commitment to the Minimum Government, Maximum Governance. It is a crucial step in the direction of reducing the interference of the government from the life of countrymen.”
Moreover, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has carried out several significant tax reforms indirect taxes in recent years, a government statement depicted.
As per the reliable sources, by extending statutory timeliness for filing returns and releasing refunds expeditiously to increase liquidity in the hands of taxpayers, the IT Department has also made efforts to ease compliances during the soaring Covid-19 pandemic.
The Ministery of Finance tweeted a few minutes ago, highlighting the prime importance of the grand scheme.
