The government has received a recommendation from the 16-member high-level committee that calls for the Ratna Bhandar (treasure trove) to open on July 14 from the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). In an interview with media, SJTA chief administrator Vir Vikram Yadav stated that the proposal submitted to the government by the 16-member high-level committee led by Justice Biswanath Rath has been accepted by the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee.
“The committee also suggested the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the opening of the Ratna Bhandar. Some more suggestions have been added to it. The proposal was sent to the government for approval,” the SJTA chief added.
He stated that actions would be done by the state government’s decision. On July 9, the 16-member Committee deliberated over the Ratna Bhandar Opening and formulated the SOP about it. The Committee has suggested that the government open the Treasury on July 14th to do conservation and inventory work. The SJTA will erect a temporary Ratna Bahndar and move the trinity’s decorations from the loot to it.
