After the death of the actor- Sushant Singh Rajput, his ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty has been accused of money laundering. As the case has been handed over to CBI, Rhea was summoned to appear before Enforcement Directorate today.
“Rhea Chakraborty has requested that the recording of her statement be postponed till SC Hearing,” said advocate Satish Manshinde.
Rhea had pleaded the Supreme Court seeking a transfer of the case registered in Patna from the Patna Police to the Mumbai Police. The Apex Court has asked for the decision of the Maharashtra and Patna government and Sushant Singh Rajput’s father K.K Singh.
Rhea was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate to record her statement regarding two major property investment made by her in Mumbai after Sushant Singh Rajput’s father K.K Singh filed an FIR against Rhea based on claiming that transfer of a 15 crore amount from Sushant’s bank account to accounts that had nothing to do with him.
On August 6, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took over the case of Sushant and filed an investigation against Rhea Chakraborty, Indrajit Chakraborty, Sandhya Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty. FIR was filed under theft, criminal conspiracy, abetment to suicide, wrongfully restraint, wrongful confinement, criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal intimidation.
Anti-corruption unit VI ( SIT) has been handed over with the economic aspect of the case and there have been several controversies regarding a war between the Mumbai and Patna Police. The CBI has collected the case related documents from the Mumbai as well as the Patna Police and will study thoroughly its autopsy report and the statement records.
