The mysterious death of the actor Sushant Singh Rajput has to lead to many controversies and public pressure which had to involve the Mumbai Police, Bihar Police, Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the death.
The Supreme court now passed the order for the Central Bureau of Investigation to take over the case. The Supreme Court has also announced that the verdict on Rhea Chakraborty’s plea, the case will be transferred to Mumbai.
Since the Mumbai Police had been incompetent with the investigation regarding the death of the actor, Sushant’s father had filed a FIR in the Patna police station against Rhea and her family for money laundering and mentally harassing. Rhea had then plead for the transfer of the case from Bihar police to Mumbai police. Following the petition, the Bihar government had requested for a CBI probe into the case.
The supreme Court accepted the request from Bihar government and asked Mumbai Police to hand over all the evidences collected so far to CBI. The apex court also observed that the FIR lodged at Patna was correct. The Maharashtra government refused option to challenging the Supreme Court’s order.
” CBI will not only be competent to probe the Patna FIR but also any other FIR related to Rajput’s death case. CBI will be the sole authority to probe the mystery behind the death and no other state police could interfere in it,” said the Supreme Court.
The Bihar government had earlier referred the Patna FIR to CBI in order to take up the case. However, Maharashtra government opposed the decision and instead said Patna FIR should be transferred to Mumbai in whose jurisdiction the incident happened.
1.3 billion people have been asking for CBI inquiry into the case and have finally paid off. Hope the CBI gives justice and the truth prevails.
