Priyanshu Mohanty School of Sustainability, XIM University (New Campus), in association with AlCom – the Alumni Committee of the School of Sustainability, successfully hosted their annual event on the theme “ESG Synergy: Global Trends and India’s Strategic Alignment” on 02nd November, 2024. The event was inaugurated through a welcome note by Prof. Dr. Sutapa Pati, Dean, School of Sustainability, followed by an introductory address by Prof. Elizabeth Abba, Associate Dean of the School of Sustainability, XIM University and the Faculty Coordinator of Alumni Committee.
The morning session commenced with a series of back-to-back enlightening colloquy where the esteemed speakers shared their experience and sustainability journey. The speakers took the audience through key ESG concepts, sustainable maintenance practices like Total Productive Maintenance, green finance concepts implemented in banking institutions like green fixed deposit product, importance of skill development policies and training, and how companies are incorporating innovative ESG strategies into their businesses thereby resulting in net profit.
The latter half of the event was a Panel Discussion moderated by Mr. Aditya Yuvaraj. The discussion explored the basics of ESG- Environment, Social and Governance, the gap in the rate of ESG implementation in manufacturing and service sector, evolution of ESG policies and frameworks in India and the impact of Government mandates on various business stakeholders.
Amidst the engaging discussion, participants were encouraged to make the event interactive by asking relevant questions to enrich their understanding of the various topics being discussed. The event brought in a distinguished forum, where thought leaders and pioneers of the industry came together to exchange and explore cutting-edge ideas, solutions, and strategies aimed at discussing and sharing their ideas on the creation of a more sustainable future.
