The day was the release date of the much-awaited flick of Sushant’s filmography- Dil Bechara.
Towering emotions of infinite fans kept on streaming through all social media accounts, since the day, the shocking news of mysterious and ultimately passing away of Sushant clinched the national media reports. While today, several aficionados of Sushant still demand CBI inquiry, suspecting a concern of foul play in his death, the Bollywood now recognizes the fact that the kingdom of Bollywood is never the same for Star Kids and Outsiders. While the former gets all the attraction of big banners and publicity houses, the latter exertions its fight for several decades to get a mere recognition.
The announcement of Sushant’s last flick also raised a debate on the existence of Outsiders in Bollywood. On June 29, Dil Bechara was confirmed to release in the OTT platform, Disney+ Hotstar, on July 24. It created turmoil among Sushant lovers, who demanded a big-screen release for their hero’s last flick. Nevertheless, the decision didn’t change. However, Hotstar made Dil Bechara available for all- the subscribers and the non-subscribers, providing a sigh of relief for the raging Sushant fans.
July 24, 2020, got marked in the calendar. Millions of fans and billions of well-wishers waited for the day to arrive. The songs and the trailers trended on top hashtags, with each of them (songs or trailer), breaking the digital records of likes and views on Youtube. Dil Bechara was no longer just a movie. It was an emotion and sensation of extreme passion which the fans wished to witness, one last time.
The movie released at 7.20 pm on Hotstar on July 24. As expected, it shattered records after records. Within a day, Dil Bechara became the most-viewed Indian Cinema on the OTT platform, with 75 million views. While there were undoubtedly high sentiments connected with the film, however, was the movie made well enough to be considered a masterpiece in the future.
Dil Bechara, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi, is a ride of topsy-turvy emotion. While the first half of the film develops into a dainty rom-com among a couple with a terminal disease, cancer, the latter half of the movie, especially the climax, is heart-wrenching. The emotional wound from the inability to save your partner, the extreme pain of cancer, and the fear of losing your loved ones make the heart weep.
While Sanjana Sanghi, as Kizzy Basu was exceptional in her debut movie, Sushant Singh Rajput, as Manny stole the show. It was as if he was paying him a tribute in his last movie. A fun-loving and lovable guy to a big die heart fan of Rajnikant, Immeul Rajkumar Junior, aka Manny, was the sole of the movie. Sushant mastered various emotions of humor, romance, pain, and misery and presented perfectly on a platter to the audience.
Dil Bechara should be devoid of any ratings. It is a film that should be jubilated for years to come as a panegyric to the intrinsic presence of craft as an actor Sushant possessed. The movie might not be a masterpiece but will surely be a masterclass style of bidding adieu to the world by a great actor named Sushant Singh Rajput.
