Donald Trump Urges Georgia Election Official To ‘Find’ Votes To Overturn Joe Biden Win

US President Donald Trump’s recording where he is telling Georgia’s top election official to find enough votes to overturn the election result.

As per a BBC report, Donald Trump told Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in a recording – “I just want to find 11,780 votes” which was released by the Washington post to which Mr. Raffensperger is heard replying that Georgia’s results are correct. Joe Biden won Georgia alongside other swing states, winning 306 electoral college votes to Mr. Trump’s 232.

After the election, Donald Trump has been making allegations that the electoral is a fraud. All 50 states have approved the election result and after the final counting, some have also recounted and legal appeals.

The report further stated that All 10 living former US defense secretaries have urged President Trump not to question the election results in an opinion piece for the Washington Post. The group also said he should not involve the military in voting disputes, an idea that’s been presented by some of Donald Trump’s followers.

The phone conversation released by the Washington Post where Mr. Donald Trump can be heard alternately flattering and pressurizing Georgia’s secretary of state. He emphasized that he had won the election in Georgia and told Mr. Raffensperger that there was nothing wrong and the votes have recalculated.

To which Mr. Raffensperger is responding by saying -: “The challenge you have, Mr. President, is that the data you have is wrong.”

US President-Elect Joe Biden Names Indian-American Vedant Patel As Assistant White House Press Secretary

US President-elect Joe Biden has named American Vedant Patel for the White House Assistant Press Secretary’s post.

Mr. Biden announced 16 additional members for the White House Communication and Press Staff, which includes Megan Apper- Director of Research, Kate Berner- Deputy Communications Director, Rosemary Boeglin-Assistant Press Secretary, Amanda Finney- Chief of Staff for the Press Office and -Mike Gwin-Special Assistant to the Press Secretary,  Director of Rapid Response, and Meghan Hays- Director of Message Planning.

Vedant Patel is born in India but raised in California, where he is graduated from the University of California and the University of Florida. He is currently the Biden inaugural senior spokesperson and was also a part of the Biden election campaign where he worked as the Regional Communications Director and as the Nevada and Western Primary-States Communications Director.

Earlier, he worked as Communications Director to Indian-American Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, Western Regional Press Secretary at the Democratic National Committee, and Communications Director to Congressman Mike Honda.

According to the PTI report, Mr. Biden, after announcing the names, stated that “Restoring faith in government by speaking honestly and directly to the American people will be a hallmark of my administration. Our communications and press staff are integral to this effort and are committed to building this country back better for all Americans. I’m proud to have them serve the American people in the White House.”

 White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain said, “These appointees are among a diverse and experienced team that is dedicated to rebuilding the trust of the American people amidst a pandemic and a struggling economy.”

US President-Elect Joe Biden Picks General Lloyd Austin As His Defence Secretary

US President-elect Joe Biden chose retired General Lloyd Austin as his defence secretary. As per the US media report, Gen Austin, who is 67years old, will become the first African-American to lead the Pentagon.

The BBC reports stated that Gen Austin has already led US Central Command during the Obama administration, which would need a congressional wavier as it is less than seven years since he retired. After the announcement of other senior members for his national security team, Mr. Biden reported this decision to the press.

The report further stated that Mr. Biden and Gen Austin had made no public comments on the issue. But earlier media reports suggested that the Democratic president-elect would nominate veteran Pentagon official Michèle Flournoy for the job and that she would have been the first woman to hold the position.

Gen Austin had once been viewed as a long-shot candidate – but that in recent days he had emerged as a top-tier contender and a safe choice and that his emergence as a potential choice came amid growing calls from national civil rights organizations and Democratic Asian, Black, and Latino caucuses to ensure that Mr. Biden nominated minorities and women to senior cabinet posts.

According to CBS, Gen Austin faces a couple of hurdles, including his position in recent years as a member of the board of directors of defense contractor Raytheon.

Democratic Party presidential candidate Joe Biden has elected Kamala Devi Harris as the nominee for vice president and as the first Asian-American on a major presidential ticket. It is a crucial breakthrough for Indian American in US Politics.

Biden is welcoming a former rival from the Democratic primary who is well-known with the bizarre precision of a national campaign by picking Harris. She is the first senator who is a South Asian descent and party’s most notable figure and also a top contender for the No.2 spot after her own White House Campaign concluded.  For the first time, she will appear with Biden as his running mate.

By declaring his running mate, Biden says that Harris is a courageous fighter for the little guy and one of the country’s finest public servants. She will serve to unify the American people and build an America that lives up to our ideals.

Kamala Devi Harris born on 20th October 1964 is the daughter of Indian mother Shyamala Gopalan Harris who is from Chennai and father, Donald Harris who is a Jamaican. Her mother was a cancer researcher who passed away in 2009, and her father is a teacher at Stanford University.

At a very young age, her parents were separated, and she has a sister Maya Harris. She grew up in Oakland, and after completing her undergraduate degree from Howard University and a law degree from the University of California Hastings, she made her career in Law in the Alameda County District Attorney’s office.

She served as district attorney in San Francisco. She is married to Douglas Emhoff, a lawyer, and a step-mother to his two children from his previous marriage.

In 2017 she was affirmed in as a United States Senator from California, is the only second African-American women and the first South Asian-American senator in history. She also served on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, the Select Committee on Intelligence, the Committee on the Judiciary, and the Committee on the Budget.
