Q1) Tell us about the incredible journey of IG Drones in a nut shell
Bodhisattwa and Om Prakash of oldest engineering institute of Odisha VSSUT (UCE Burla) decided to do something different from what their regular curriculum was and thought of focusing on an application-oriented approach to do the same. The institute was started back in 1956 to produce engineers to help and maintain the longest earthen dam of the world Hirakud and launched the first student satellite named VSLV back in 2016 itself. The students who started developing an indigenous sounding rocket and a Picosat satellite to monitor the famed dam for damages are now the big names in the most emerging and advanced Drone Industry and have founded IG Drones, currently one of the leading Enterprise Drone Platform of India
Q2) What was the driving force of IG Drones to establish it as a brand to reckon?
IG Drones aims to provide enterprise drone solutions across India and to restructure the conventional industrial methods using highly efficient drones. It delivers high-quality geospatial solutions with a voracious streak and in-depth accuracy as per the requirements and many more projects. Q3) The journey from an idea to building its head office in Delhi and branch offices in Mumbai (Maharashtra), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Kolkata (West Bengal), Guwahati (Assam), Bangalore (Karnataka), and Bhubaneswar, is very commendable. Enlighten us how do you put up your strategic modes to suits its business expansion plan.
We always wanted to be a PAN India company and grow to a Global leader. IG Drones is a K2K Company where we have projects from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Kutch to Kohima. We started small from the university campus itself but expanded across. Having collaborated with multiple state governments and over 30 of the major PSU’s and MNC’s and have successfully completed over 250 projects.
Q4)If we look at the employment sector in India, its really at its ebb that you know very well therefore what is vision to IG Drones to make it employees centric?
Ans : Currently we have a major chunk of workforce working are trained & based out of IG Drones Centre of Excellence (CoE) itself. We’ve a network of more than 150 Dronepreneurs trained at the CEO’s who are creating & sustaining the local economy. We aim to empower the youth and create 1000+ direct employment & 7500+ indirect unemployment by 2025.
Q5) IG Drones has recently exhibited at KRISHI MAHOTSAV in Kota Rajasthan. Tell us about the response and it’s impact?
Ans : A pick-out from ‘Krishi-Mahotsav: Pradarshani Evam Prashikshan’ held at Kota, Rajasthan where IG Drones exhibited and women-agripreneurs were encouraged and trained to adopt advanced agricultural production system, new agricultural technology and more. The agricultural community responded enthusiastically to the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge technologies that would influence their crops and farming practices in the near future.
Q6) What makes you more vigilant to take your brand IG Drones to the next level?
True sense of development is when all the sections of the society are equally benefited. With its enduring and unwavering experience in birthing industry-specific solutions, IG Drones has proved to be successful in the fields of infrastructure, power, railway, port, road, mines, water resources, oil & gas, river modeling, solar, wind turbines, Smart City Planning, etc. and has also taken on the accountability for training and enhancing the abilities of India’s youth, preparing them for the oncoming Industrial 4.0 Revolution by launching “The IG Drones Drone Centre of Excellence” (CoE) programme, which came into existence with the sole objective of educating over ten million students about the latest drone technologies.
