Team BDA Calls On H&UD Minister To Discuss City Projects

Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Minister of Housing & Urban Development and Public Enterprises, and Chairman of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority, was visited at Unnati Bhawan by Vice Chairman of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) Balwant Singh and other BDA officials. An official news statement states that the BDA delegation congratulated the Minister on his new position as BDA Chairman during the meeting.

Updates on ongoing projects, such as affordable housing, park development, road construction, town planning, and the comprehensive development plan (CDP) for the extended region, were given by the vice chairman of the BDA. They also talked about recent projects that are meant to develop the State Capital. The BDA team also discussed reorganizing the company to better line with Vikshit Bharat Vision 2047 and Odisha Vision 2036.

The Minister asked BDA staff to create new projects for the overall development of Bhubaneswar and stressed the significance of immediately resolving public issues. The Minister also emphasized the necessity of a clear, quick procedure for turning leased properties into freehold ownership as well as strong enforcement against land invasion. The Minister also emphasized the significance of resolving the flooding situation, requesting that the BDA determine the root causes and put mitigation plans in place. A strategy for the Gangua River’s revitalization was also requested by the Minister.

The in-charge secretary, the deputy commissioner for town planning, the allocation officer, the planning member, the finance member, the engineering member, the superintending engineer, and the executive engineer were among the senior BDA officials present at the meeting.
