Yashobhoomi World’s largest Convention centre inaugurated in Delhi

On September 17 at 11 a.m., Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated his birthday by opening the first phase of the India International Convention and Expo Centre, better known as “Yashobhoomi,” in Dwarka, New Delhi. The Yashobhoomi convention centre, which was built for about Rs 5,400 crore and covers a project area of more than 8.9 lakh square metres, has a total seating capacity of more than 11,000 delegates and includes 15 convention rooms, a grand ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms.

One of the largest exhibition halls in the world will be available at Yashobhoomi. These exhibit halls cover a total area of 1.07 million square metres. These spaces will be used to hold trade shows, exhibits, and corporate gatherings. There are seating arrangements inside the main auditorium for 6,000 people. The motorised seating system enables the floor to be either flat or tiered in the manner of an auditorium. Wooden floors and acoustic wall panels give the space a quality finish.

A little over 2,500 people can be accommodated in the Grand Ballroom, which has a petal ceiling. For about 500 visitors, there is extra space in the expanded open area. The 13 conference rooms, which are dispersed across eight floors, will be used for various meetings. The Delhi Airport Metro Express line of the Delhi Metro will be connected to the massive conference facility by the government. In a statement released on Saturday, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said that starting on Sunday, the Airport Express Line would run at a whopping 120 kilometres per hour (KMPH).

“This historic increase in speed of India’s fastest Metro corridor gradually from 90 KMPH to 120 KMPH has been made possible by meticulous planning and time-bound implementation by DMRC’s engineers in consultation with a number of other government agencies and domain experts,” said the DMRC in a statement. All Delhi Metro lines are soon to be expected to operate at these speeds, making Delhi’s Metro the quickest in the nation.
