“The mantra is to work hard in a focused manner and instead of looking for leadership from the top at all times, create a leader within each of you in every activity of yours,” exhorted Soma Mondal, a representative from Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), as she interacted with a variety of young executives from Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) today at Rourkela House.
“The talented young generation, which is filled with energy and confidence will take RSP and SAIL to new heights with the supervision of the experienced hands,” the SAIL Chairman declared in her motivating speech.
Mondal underscored the necessity to follow safe working procedures and stressed the need of safety, saying, “We have to instil safety in our DNA and create a culture. Safety must be a part of every daily action we engage in. RSP must take the initiative by modelling behaviour for other units. She continued by saying that growth is possible with effort, intelligence, and teamwork.
Mondal went into detail about the company’s priorities and concentrated on areas that needed the most improvement. She also emphasised the importance of enhancing RSP’s digitization system and turning the company into a premier producer of green steel. Later, the SAIL Chief engaged in an open house conversation with all of the attendees.
RSP Director In-Charge Atanu Bhowmick, ED (Works) SR Suryawanshi, ED (P&A), ED (Projects), ED (MM) Somnath Tripathy, ED (M&HS) Dr. BK Hota, and CGM In-charge (F&A) AK Behuria were present at the meeting. Notably, the SAIL Chairman arrived in Rourkela on Thursday for a two-day visit.
In his speech, Bhowmick discussed the goals and problems facing the young executives and gave the SAIL Chief his word that RSP will live up to all of the management’s expectations.DGM (Personnel) NC Panda welcomed the Chairman of SAIL and other dignitaries at the outset and assured them that RSP collective will do everything necessary to meet the difficulties.She and Bhowmick planted trees at Rourkela House to commemorate the SAIL Chairman’s visit to RSP. She had meetings earlier in the day with trade union, executive association, and business officials in the area.
