Siddhartha Prasad Das, a seventeen-year-old boy from Dhenkanal has come to public glare after he converted his own bicycle to a battery operated e-cycle and for which he has garnered manifold appreciations.
It took him around three days to make the e-cycle. The e-cycle can run upto a speed of 30 kmph and it takes around three-four hours for charging. Once charged the e-cycle can go upto a distance of 30 kms as informed by Siddhartha.
Siddharth Prasad Das said, “During the first wave coronavirus lockdown I was sitting idle at home and thinking of doing something Innovative, so I thought of converting my cycle to a battery operated e-cycle and I did it.”
Siddhartha also said ” I have used a 36 v lithium battery, a 36 v controller, electric throttle, electric motor and other electric components in order to convert my bicycle to a e-cycle.”
Siddhartha is currently pursuing his plus two second year science and a native of Beltigiri of Dhenkanal district and currently resides in Dhenkanal town.
