110th Bihar Diwas, Know All About The Day

Bihar Diwas is celebrated on the 22nd of March every year. This year Bihar is celebrating the 110th anniversary of its foundation. In the year 1912, Bihar was given an independent charge by the British government. 22nd March is an official holiday in the state.

Bihar has varieties of cultural, social, and geographical features in the state. At every corner of Bihar, people will feel diversity in the region. The state is broadly divided in subdivisions like Mithila, Simanchal, Saaran, and Magadh. Bihar is the birthplace of democracy in the world. The first democracy was established in the Vaishali district of state during the regime of Lichhvi.

Bihar had played significant role in the foundation of religions like Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. Lord Buddha got enlighten in the Bodhgaya. It is scared place for Buddhism,it attracts tourists from all around the world. Jainis was founded by Lord Mahavir. It’s holy place is Pawapuri,it also attracts the tourists in same ways as Bodhgaya does. Patna City is holy place for Sikhs. The tenth guru of Sikhs Guru Govind Singh born there. His birthday is celebrated as Prakash Parv. Devotees come every year to celebrate his birthday.

Bihar cuisine is very famous all around the world. People are fond of eating Bihar cuisine. Litti Chokha is recognized all over the world as Bihar cuisine. Aahuna Mutton, Silao ka khaja, Bettel, Dahi-Chuda, Anarsa and many more. Lichi of Muzffarpur is famous in the fruit market. Every year 100 crore business is done by the people of Muzffarpur.

Bihar had played a significant role in the India’s independence. East Champarn is a place where Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi executed his first non violent movement. He fought for the indigo farmers against the British. During the time of emergency also Bihar played a huge role. Jay Prakash led the student’s agitation from Patna. He challenged then PM Indira Gandhi. After that movement, Indira Gandhi faced a huge loss in the election. A first-time non congress government was formed in the Country.

Bihar has huge diverse arts and culture. It is because of varieties of different identification. People of Bihar speak Bhojpuri Maithali Wazikka and Magahi. Folk artists like Bhikhari Thakur, Sharda Sinha, Kaplan And more singers are playing songs in traditional languages. In the filed of literature Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Gonu Jha, and Nagaarjun had given many writings for upcoming generations.
