328 human lives lost in attacks by wild animals in Odisha

1461 poachers were apprehended during the three-year period in question.

In the last three years, 328 people have been killed in Odisha by wild animals, including elephants.

 

Responding to a question from BJD member from Khandapara Soumya Ranjan Patnaik in the Odisha Assembly today, Forest, Environment & Climate Change Minister Pradip Kumar Amat stated that 328 human lives were lost in the State between 2019-20 and 2021-22 due to attacks by wild animals.

 

Similarly, Amat told the House that 930 people were injured in wild animal attacks during the same time period.

 

Furthermore, he stated that 1461 poachers were apprehended during the three-year period in question.
