Mehbooba Mufti, former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and president of the PDP, is in trouble again. Jammu and Kashmir police have now refused to grant a passport renewal. According to Mufti’s tweet, Jammu and Kashmir police have refused to issue her passport based on the CID report.
“The passport office has refused to issue my passport on the basis of the CID report,” Mehbooba Mufti tweeted. Because it is a threat to India’s security. Mufti’s passport was valid until May 31, 2017. She then appealed for its renewal.
Notably, Mehbooba Mufti has recently approached the Jammu and Kashmir High Court for a passport. But so far the police investigation process has not been completed. She has since become the doorman of the High Court. “As per the rules, the investigation was to be completed within 30 days,” she told the High Court.
