In India, new strains of the virus have been identified. In the meantime, new symptoms are emerging. In the past, colds, fevers, coughs, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and respiratory problems were considered coronary symptoms. Now new symptoms such as happy-hypoxia are shocking experts.
In India, most of the young people infected with the second wave of corona are suffering from it, experts say. Although there are no symptoms of happy hypoxia, the level of oxygen in the body of a person infected with Covid suddenly reaches 50%. It’s too late to figure it out. So two days ago, the patient, who looked well, reached the ventilator.
In this regard, BK Bharadwaj, a hematologist from Bhopal, said, ‘Hypoxia means a significant decrease in the level of oxygen in the blood. A healthy person has an oxygen level of 95% or more in their body. However, the oxygen saturation of corona patients is reduced to 50%. In most cases, the patient’s body is swollen. As a result, the cellular protein reaction is accelerated. This causes blood clots. This is the main cause of happy hypoxia. Due to the clotting of blood, the supply of oxygen to the lungs is not properly maintained and the saturation of oxygen in the blood is reduced. As a result, the kidneys, brain, heart and other major organs of the body may stop working. Therefore, the patient’s condition is life-threatening. The important thing here is that such patients do not have any symptoms at first. They look good and happy on the outside. So it’s difficult to identify the symptom.
There are two main reasons why young people have this problem. Their immunity and endurance are higher than others. As you get older, your oxygen saturation reaches from 94% to 90%. They tolerate hypoxia to some extent.
In those cases, covid 19 patients who have no symptoms or who have mild symptoms should have an oxygen meter to check for hypoxia. Happy hypoxia changes the color of the lips. It makes lips look blue. The skin is red / purple. Sweat comes out of the body without any reason. This is a sign of a lack of oxygen in the body. If such symptoms occur, they should be hospitalized immediately, he said.
