One of the most anticipated Bollywood mobvie of this year is 83. Directed by the famous director Kabir Khan, the movie revolves around the historic incident of Team India as an underdogs winning the 1983 world cup under the leadership of Kapil Dev. The incident is very important in Indian cricket history, as it was from that time onwards the popularity of Indian cricket started rising. The movie stars Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev and also stars Pankaj Triparthi, Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles.
83 had an initial release date of April 2020. However, due to COVID the release date got pushed and now the movie is slated for a worldwide release on December 24th. The movie is a big budget movie and whatever reviews of the critics are coming out, it seems that 83 will be an out and out blockbuster.

Kabir Khan’s film on the 1983 Cricket World Cup win 83 has been declared tax-free in Delhi ahead of its release. Starring Ranveer Singh as then captain Kapil Dev, the film will have its grand theatrical release on Friday, December 24. Kabir Khan took to his official Instagram account to announce the news and thanked Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia.
Sharing a poster of the film, he wrote, “Thank you, Shri. @arvindkejriwal ji and Shri. msisodia.aap ji, for declaring the film 83 tax-free in Delhi! Your gesture will able us to propagate the tale of India’s greatest victory to a wider audience. @therealkapildev #ThisIs83.
