Bhubaneswar Dec 08: BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik called Barsa Singh Bariha and congratulated her on her stunning victory in the Padampur by-election.
Bariha won the Padampur by-election by a large margin of 42,679 votes defeating BJP candidate Pradeep Purohit.
Bariha got 120,807 votes, while her nearest rival, BJP candidate Pradeep Purohit, received 78, 128 votes. Satya Bhusan Sahu, the Congress candidate, received only 3594 votes.
“I am grateful to the people of Padampur assembly constituency and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for their support.” “I will work hard for the development of the people and the area, as well as to realise my father’s dreams,” said Bariha.
