The state government has established the Odisha Motor Vehicle Drivers and Employees Welfare Board with the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s blessing.
The board will be presided over by the minister of commerce and transportation, and MLAs Pranab Balabantaraya and Deepali Das have been chosen as members.
Members of the board will include representatives from the transport department, car owners’ groups, drivers’ unions, employees’ unions, and social workers, among others.
The Chief Minister announced the creation of this body on June 12, 2023. This board will undertake numerous schemes targeted at the welfare of drivers and workers and provide the state government with the appropriate suggestions for the welfare of drivers and employees.
This welfare board will help the state’s five lakh plus truckers, employees, and families.
