In all of Odisha, dengue cases have risen sharply and are at an all-time high. Officials from the Health Department said that instead of panicking, individuals should practice good hygiene to prevent contracting the illness. The peak time for dengue is already beginning and is anticipated to run through the end of September, according to statistics compared to previous year. In the meanwhile, testing has increased throughout the State.
According to sources, dengue testing facilities would be open in Bhubaneswar’s RMRC and Nayapalli in addition to Capital Hospital. Senior health official: “Bed count has been increased at all Urban PHCs so we request people who are mildly affected to go there instead of adding to the load at Capital Hospital.”
Additionally, during the current monsoon season, the health department gave the relevant authorities instructions to increase public awareness of the vector-borne illness.
