Former Minister Samir Das Faces Black Flag In His Constituency In Odisha’s Puri

Samir Ranjan Das, a former minister and prominent BJD politician, was welcomed by the villagers with a black flag on Sunday while visiting his constituency in the Puri district of Odisha. Sources claim that Das had been to the district’s Bedpur under Gop block in the morning to dedicate a project. Some locals greeted him and led him in a parade to the project site when he and a few of his supporters arrived at the location.

A group of BJD employees from the party’s dissident faction yelled shouts against Das and presented him with a black flag as they traveled. Others from the BJP joined them. Members of the BJD’s dissident section burned an effigy of the former minister while shouting “Samir Das go back.” Throughout the Das march, which lasted for more than 30 minutes, there was agitation.

However, by preventing the protesters from approaching the GOP MLA, the police who had been placed there were able to contain the situation.
