Former Minister and one of the founder members of Biju Janta Dal (BJD), Debasis Nayak and Congress Legislator, Nihar Mahananada joined Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on Sunday. This change is coming up as a huge setback to the BJD as assembly polls are around the corner.
The leaders who joined the BJP alleged the bureaucrats are running their former party. According to the media reports, Nayak counted multiple faults in the party and reasoned it was the same for many BJD leaders and MPs joining the BJP in the last 15 days.
On the other hand, he appreciated the leadership of Prime Minister Modi in governing the central government who has led many development projects across the country.
