Bhubaneswar, Apr 12: former Laxmipur MLA Kailash Kulesika today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ahead Of odisha assembly polls former Laxmipur MLA Kailash Kulesika today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He was also inducted into the saffron party fold in the presence of BJP state president Manmohan Samal and actor-turned-politician Arindam Roy.Notably, Kailash had secured the Laxmipur Assembly seat in the 2014 elections on a Congress ticket. However, he lost to BJD’s Prabhu Jani in 2019 polls.
Upset over the denial of the ticket Kulesika alleged that the ruling BJD assured him to give Special Development Council (SDC) and Rs 1 crore after the elections, but it failed to keep its word.
Later in 2021, he had resigned from congress and joined the BJD.
