Preparing for the June 1 final round of Odisha’s twin elections, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday unveiled a number of welfare initiatives for farmers. Chief Minister and leader of the BJD, Naveen Patnaik, declared on Friday that his government would lend interest-free money to every farmer in the state up to Rs. 1.5 lakh should he be elected to office a sixth time.
Furthermore, the state’s newly elected BJD administration has allocated Rs 500 crore for the construction of cutting-edge warehouses in mandis throughout Odisha. The program attempts to lessen the difficulties faced by farmers, who frequently struggle to transport their goods to the mandis and, in the event that it is unsold, back home. In an effort to win over farmers’ support before the state’s impending Phase IV elections, the BJD has also declared a host of additional advantages.
