Steel and Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena told the Odisha Assembly that gold reserves have been found in the Adas-Rampalli region of the Deogarh district and the Gopur-Gajipur area of the Keonjhar district. In a written response to a question posed by Brahmagiri BJP MLA Upasana Mohapatra, the Minister disclosed this.
Jena reported that the Geological Survey of India (GSI) has finished its G-2 level investigation in the Adas-Rampalli region of Deogarh, with encouraging findings. In a similar vein, G-2 level exploration has begun in the Gopur-Gajipur area of Keonjhar after G-3 level exploration yielded positive results. The Minister also stated that the GSI is working with the Directorate of Mines and Geology, Odisha, to conduct this exploration.
