Keonjhar To Get Mega Steel Plant With Rs 40,000 Cr Investment Says CM Majhi

Plans to establish a massive steel mill in the Patna region of the Keonjhar district have been announced by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. It is anticipated that this project would require an investment of between Rs 30,000 crore and Rs 40,000 crore. At the 48th Annual Day celebration held at Chandra Sekhar College in Champua, Keonjhar district, the Chief Minister made this declaration.

“A mega steel plant will be established in the Patna area of Keonjhar district, with an investment expected to range between Rs 30,000 crore and Rs 40,000 crore. An MoU has been signed with JSW and POSCO for this project. We are in regular touch with all stakeholders to ensure the project is completed as soon as possible,” said the Chief Minister.

In addition to the steel mill, the Chief Minister indicated that around Rs 1 lakh crore will be spent in different industrial projects across Keonjhar to assist the district’s rapid growth.

“Industrial projects will be set up in several places in Keonjhar, including Barbil, Joda, Champua, Suakati, Anandapur, Harichandanpur, and Champua. The state government is taking all necessary steps in this regard. Approximately 145 MoUs for projects worth Rs 13 lakh crore have already been signed, creating nearly 9 lakh employment opportunities ” CM said.

The Chief Minister also emphasized the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’s success, in which the state was able to secure a total investment of Rs 17 lakh crore.
