Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo today laid the foundation stone for the new head office building of Odisha Agro Industries Corporation at 95, Satyanagar, Bhubaneswar. The new office building is an ambitious project which will serve as a central hub for stakeholder engagement, progressive programs, and strategic development aligned with government schemes. This initiative reflects a significant investment in infrastructure designed to enhance agricultural practices across the state. To be constructed at a project cost of Rs. 83.77 crore on 1.46 acres with a built-up area of over 16,500 sqm, this will be a 5-storey state-of-the-art infrastructure with two main blocks and the design will be like Krushi Bhavan.
While addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo said it will foster farmer education, technical training, and demonstration of government programs, enhance irrigation capacity, and support state agricultural policies through sustainable water initiatives. There will be a dedicated space for farmers, manufacturers, and experts to interact and share insights.
Farmers around the state will be introduced to contemporary agricultural tools and techniques through facilities for workshops, demonstrations, and technological exhibits. Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment department, stated that irrigation solutions will be provided to ensure effective delivery to farming communities through the subsidized sale of farm machinery, equipment, implements, and other agricultural inputs like fertilizers and pesticides.
