Adani Group to invest Rs 33,000 crore in Odisha across power, cement, data sectors

The Adani Group on Wednesday announced fresh investments exceeding Rs 33,000 crore in Odisha, spanning digital infrastructure, power generation and cement manufacturing, reinforcing industry confidence in the state’s growth potential. The announcement was made during a state government event in Bhuinpur, Khurda, where 36 industrial projects worth over Rs 40,000 crore were inaugurated and launched. Speaking at the function, Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports and SEZ and Chairman of ACC Limited, detailed three major projects the group plans to execute in the state, in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

Highlighting the group’s long-standing presence in Odisha, Karan Adani said the new initiatives go beyond capacity expansion and reflect confidence in the state’s evolving economic landscape. Among the key projects is a data centre at Info Valley in Bhubaneswar, with an investment of around Rs 800 crore. The facility is expected to create about 200 skilled jobs and serve as a key hub for digital services, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing and e-governance.

In addition, the group will set up a thermal power plant near Cuttack with a projected investment of Rs 30,181 crore. The project is aimed at strengthening energy availability for industries and households, while generating around 7,000 employment opportunities. A cement manufacturing unit, also planned in the Cuttack region, will involve an investment of Rs 2,100 crore and is expected to create nearly 2,500 jobs, while boosting local supply chains for infrastructure development.
