Following a virtual meeting between Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, the Indian government approved the purchase of pulses (Green Gram, Black Gram) and oilseeds (Sunflower, Groundnut, Mustard) under the Price Support Scheme for Rabi 2025–2026.
The project will improve procurement mechanisms throughout the state and guarantee farmers fair pricing. Increasing sunflower output in Western Odisha, especially in the Kalahandi area, would receive special attention.
Through ongoing monitoring throughout the season, the State Government will guarantee prompt and transparent procurement, demonstrating its dedication to farmer welfare and income assistance.
